A nice day in Bemidji brought the bargain hunters out in droves to the 5th annual Beltrami Electric Cooperative Indoor Garage Sale to benefit the United Way of Bemidji Area held Saturday, May 7 in the cooperative garage. This year’s event collected over $4,300 for this worthy organization.

Over 1,500 shoppers paid a one-dollar entrance fee to enter the sale, which gave them access to 72 booth spaces leased by dozens of vendors, featuring everything one could imagine, including books, clothing, electronics, kitchen appliances, exercise equipment and even homemade items. Additionally, there was a food booth stocked with donated and homemade items.

The Indoor Garage Sale committee would like to give special thanks to Ross Lewis Signs, Keith’s Pizza, the Bemidji National Guard Armory, The Buy Line, Dunn Bros Coffee, Nei Bottling, Portable John Rental & Service, Paul Bunyan Communications, Raphael’s Bakery, Marketplace Foods, Bemidji Welders Supply and all the other volunteer workers. Of course, we would also like to thanks all those people who attended the sale. Next year’s sale is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2012.
