Minnesotas Touchstone Energy
Cooperatives
and volunteers help state parks
Bemidji, MN (May 2007) - Minnesotas Touchstone Energy cooperatives joined forces
to help spruce up our state park system as part of project GreenTouch.
Locally, 59 Beltrami Electric members and guests volunteered
Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lake Bemidji State Park. Lunch
and beverages will be served at one of the park shelters.
Minnesotas Touchstone Energy cooperatives that participate
in Project GreenTouch are part of a group of 20 rural electric
cooperatives throughout the state. Touchstone Energy is a co-brand used by
cooperatives all over the nation to market what local electric
cooperatives stand for Integrity, Accountability, Innovation and
Commitment to Community. The state park sponsorship fits well with the
Touchstone Energy commitment.
In
addition to volunteer time, the sponsorship also gives the Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources $40,000 each year to help fund the State
Park Guide and the Junior Park Naturalist program. |
