Volunteers take a break from clean-up duties to take a group shot in front of Lake Bemidji State Park's GEMel electric vehicle. Over seventy volunteers joined forces to help ready the park for the summer season for the 10th annual Project GreenTouch.

Minnesotas Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and volunteers help state parks - Record Attendance for 10th Anniversary!

Over 70 Beltrami Electric Cooperative members and friends came together Sat., May 2 at Lake Bemidji State Park to up spruce up the park  for the tenth anniversary of Project GreenTouch sponsored by Minnesota’s Touchstone Energy® cooperatives. Webelos Den 3, Pack 82 from Lincoln Elementary and Horace Mae, Bemidji State University FYRE students and a host of other volunteers planted over 500 trees, raked the amphitheater, picked up garbage along the county roads and picked up sticks – all in preparation of the upcoming park season.
            “It is very helpful each year when people from GreenTouch help spruce up the park,” stated Park Manager Paul Mork. “The park has limited crew and resources. We look forward each year to the folks from GreenTouch helping to keep Lake Bemidji State Park beautiful for all who utilize and enjoy the park.”
