Water Heaters

Note: Water heaters must be connected to BEC's load management program to qualify for rebates

• 55 gallon or less: $250
• 56-99 gallon: $500 (Daily cycled control required)
• 100 gallon or larger: $800 (Daily cycled control required)
• Bonus Rebate for New Building Construction: $100
• Bonus Rebate for conversion of existing non-electric water heater: $250

Electric Transportation Chargers

Requirements:

• All equipment must be new and installed at a location served by Beltrami Electric Cooperative, Inc. by December 31, 2024.
• Must be a Level 2 or Level 3 charger on BEC's load management category 2 daily cycled storage control. 

Scheduled charging time:

• October through May: noon to 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• June through September: Midnight to 10:00 AM

Rebate limits: 

1. Light-Duty Electric Vehicle (Sedans, SUVs, 3/4-ton and less pickup trucks, vans, forklifts, Zambonis, etc.) - $100/kW (Max rebate $1,250)
2. Medium-Duty Electric Vehicle (1-2-ton pickup trucks, vans, and buses, etc.) - $100/kW (Max rebate $2,000)
3. Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicle (2-ton and over vans and trucks) - $100/kW (Max rebate $2,750)

Thermostats

• Programmable Thermostat: Up to $25 (50% of purchase price)
• Smart Thermostat: Up to $50 (50% of purchase price)

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC)

• Electric Thermal Storage (ETS) Space heating: $75/kW
• Dual Fuel Electric Heating: $25/kW
  (Electric heat that requires alternate fuel backup)
• Less than 17 SEER Air-Source Heat Pump: $450/ton
• 17 SEER or greater Air-Source Heat Pump: $650/ton
• Supplemental Heating for Air-Source Heat Pump: $500/unit
  (Steffes furnace or modulating plenum heater)
• Geothermal Heat Pump (Closed Loop): $400/ton ($5,000 max)
  Bonus Rebate: GHP on off-peak program: $250/ton
• Geothermal Heat Pump (Open Loop): $200/ton ($2,500 max)
  Bonus Rebate: GHP on off-peak program: $250/ton
• Tune Up for Central Air or Air-Source Heat Pump: $25/unit
